  1. About GoldVarb 1.4a, May 1988

  3. • Scattergram follows one-level binomial varbrul.  It is displayed
  4.   in a window on the left of the screen, while the textual results
  5.   window is moved to a position on its right.  Individual points on
  6.   the scattergram may be examined by hitting them with the cross-hair
  7.   cursor, which will "stick" temporarily to the point while information
  8.   about the cells at that point is displayed.
  9.   The Scattergram, like the pictorial cross-tabulation, may NOT be
  10.   saved (in the current version of GoldVarb), but it can of course be
  11.   printed.
  12. • In binomial varbrul with stepping, runs are numbered, and the best
  13.   run is identified at the end of stepping up & again at the end of
  14.   stepping down.
  15. • In binomial varbrul, both stepping & one-level, the maximum possible
  16.   likelihood is calculated at each run (with level > 1), and a
  17.   comparison is done between this maximum & the actual value.
  18. • Improved response of Cancel button when doing binomial varbrul with
  19.   stepping.  Formerly the button responded very slowly, sometimes not
  20.   at all.
  21. • Silly music is played when opening the “About GoldVarb…” box and
  22.   at the end of varbrul computations, unless the user turns on the
  23.   option “Shut up” in the “Cells” menu.  Once the music starts, a
  24.   mouse click will turn it off.
  25. • When the user attempts varbrul analysis of cells containing
  26.   knockouts or singletons, some documentation is made available,
  27.   summarizing how to create new or modified conditions.
  28. • Corrected a bug which occurred when reading conditions containing
  29.   comments.
